Basic Obedience will build on the concepts taught in our Puppy Foundations course but Puppy Foundations is not a prerequisite.  We focus on cementing the understanding of the verbal marker system, teaching and reinforcing the basic commands.  The basic commands will be taught in English and German. You may select the commands you wish to use.  The basic behaviors taught include sit, down, stand, come, stay, heel, free walk without pulling, use touch pads, and the basic positions of front, right, heel (left), middle (between the feet). You will learn how to take the basics of obedience and apply them to real life situations in your home and in public. You will learn how to lure your dog into positions and how to properly manage our dog’s energy. We will teach you how to utilize the Audax Protocol to teach your dog to offer you specific positive behaviors when stresses or unpleasant stimuli and/or distractions are present.  Handlers will also learn how to condition desired behavioral responses to environmental stimuli to produce dogs whose focus on the handler actually intensifies when other dogs are around.  Handlers will learn how to properly play with their dogs as a reward and how to elicit the out (release of the toy) and begin to condition the retrieve.  We will teach you the appropriate methods and time to introduce pressure and aversive stimuli (correction.) Dogs with problem/unwanted behaviors will be taught proper ones to replace them.
