How to Play with Your Dog
In this seminar we will discuss the natural motivations, AKA drives, of the dog and how to access, shape, increase and maintain those drives while focusing the dog’s motivation into obedience work or any sport or working discipline.
We will cover:
Use of conditioned reinforcement (verbal marker system)
Breed types and typical drive expressions
Food Drive
Play/prey drive
The Use of Play as reinforcement for behavior
Social Drive and Social Pressure
Defensive Drive
Premack principle
The use of pressure and correction
Restraint and Frustration
And schedules of reinforcement
This course may be attended with your dog or without.

E Collar Seminars
We offer 2 different E Collar Seminar types.

A 1 day seminar that introduces the e collar to you and your dog. This seminar will cover the common ways we use the E Collar in training and every day life. This seminar is held on a scheduled Saturday and runs for 3-4 hours. Cost is $150.

NEW: A 3 Part Seminar Series to teach you how the E Collar works and apply the practical application in supervised trainings.
Our 3 Part Seminar is $450. Class will be held every other Thursday Evening for 3 sessions. Classes will be about 2 - 3 hours long depending upon how many teams register.
This 3 Part E Collar Seminar Covers the following:-
Part 1: Introduction to the E Collar, Conditioning your dog and the common ways we use the E Collar.

Part 2: Offleash walking and Proofing your Bed Behavior.

Part 3: Proofing your Recall

Continued education on how to use the E Collar will be covered in Intermediate and Advanced Group Obedience Classes and private lessons. We recommend participating in these training classes to help you further your knowledge and practical application
There are many nuances to using the E Collar correctly and fairly. Our courses are structured in a way to empower you and your dog as a team.
Prerequisites: completed either a board and train package, a basic obedience course or a Puppy Course or at least 4 private sessions with Audax K9.
E Collar Seminar
In this seminar you will learn to use electronic training collars to further your dog training goals. When used correctly, the electronic training collar is an extremely effective tool for finishing obedience behaviors and eliminating unwanted behaviors in dogs. However we must respect that like any tool, it can be misused. Misuse can range from unfair and ineffective punishment to abuse. Without proper guidance many will inadvertently misuse the tool. This course seeks to inform the user of the proper use of the electronic collar so that it may be used fairly and appropriately to achieve excellent training results. This course is available to first time e-collar users as well as experienced handlers that wish to take their skills further.

Tracking Seminars
Our Tracking seminar is designed to introduce the handler to the concepts involved in teaching the dog the IPO style of competition tracking. The course is limited to 10 dog/handler teams but may have additional handlers auditing without their dogs. This limit is applied so that each dog/handler team has sufficient time for the practical portion of the seminar. We focus on creating the proper imprint in the dog's mind that starts out the tracking career with a big win. We will cover the concepts of laying tracks for our dogs and using the way the track is laid to modify the dog’s behavior rather than using handler input. We will begin to condition the item indication and discuss equipment used in tracking.
