WHAT WE BELIEVE
Our Philosophy
How can we better communicate with our dogs? What tools can we use to bring forth their greatest potential? Can we solve the training problems that frustrate many dog owners by modifying both our interactions with our dogs and our expectations? Does modern science offer us insights into training methodology, canine brain development, and human/canine communication?
These are the questions that were our starting point. Through research, experimentation, and empirical study, we have gained insight into the answers to these questions and more. We share these insights in our weekly group training classes and in private lessons by providing practical skills and exercises that make a positive impact on the handler/dog relationship.
There is no one-size-fits-all solution. There is no "magic bullet" that fixes every dog and every unwanted behavior. But by applying sound methodology, patience, and a strong work ethic, we can modify both the behavior of dogs and handlers to bring forth their greatest potential. We take great joy in seeing our clients achieve their goals with their dogs.
Investing in your success with your dog is our business and our passion. Never stop learning.
THE PEOPLE BEHIND THE TRAINING
Our Team

Jason Brown
HEAD TRAINER & FOUNDER
Jason is the founder of Audax K9 Academy. He began training dogs at a young age when he received a mixed breed dog for his sixth birthday. Jason studied engineering and business at SPU, where he developed his love of working with people and applying the scientific method.
After college, Jason pursued a career in the commercial insurance industry. When he met his wife Kimberly and began working with dogs at the commercial kennel she managed, his love for training reignited. Jason began teaching group obedience and protection classes in 2015 after years of dedicated study.
In 2017, Jason attended the Michael Ellis School for Dog Trainers, completing over 90 hours of intensive training in protection theory, decoy work, and the methods of teaching IPO, French Ring, Mondio Ring, and KNPV.
Kimberly Brown
TRAINER, FOUNDER, BREED CONSULTANT
Kimberly grew up in a home that always had numerous dogs, including Rottweilers, Chows, German Shepherds, Border Collies, and Saint Bernards. She participated in her first dog show at 13 and has been actively working with and training dogs since 1995.
Kimberly attended grooming school and became a certified groomer in 2004, grooming all breeds for 10 years and managing a commercial kennel for many years. Her wealth of knowledge related to the German Shepherd breed, reproductive science, and achieving the potential of the breed is unmatched.
After years of grooming and managing a commercial kennel, Kimberly chose to devote her attention to teaching dog owners how to understand their dogs and overcome the frustrations pet owners commonly struggle with. Training is a valuable tool to build relationship and trust with your dog.
