Puppy Empowerment & Obedience Foundations
10 weeks to 6 months of age

Puppy Empowerment is a course designed to teach new puppies and new puppy handlers the basics of dog training.  We focus on teaching our dogs a verbal marker based communication system. Handlers will learn how to properly lure the puppy into behaviors.  Puppies will learn how to be lured into behaviors and unlock rewards by providing the correct behavior.  We teach the puppy that paying attention to the handler is important and focusing on our face produces rewards.  We will teach the dog to touch a touch pad, stand in place, sit, down, stay, come, and begin the work of teaching the dog pre-heeling.  We will teach you English or German commands for these behaviors. We will introduce the puppy to the basic positions: front, right, left (heel), and middle (between the handler's feet.) Kimberly will provide breed specific insight into puppy development and will be available to answer your questions.  During this course we provide valuable information on how we integrate the puppy into the home to build the proper pack structure and teach the dog how their universe works.
