A Day In The Life Audax K9's In Home Board And Train
A Day in the Life at Audax K9 Board & Train
Inside Our Unique Real-Home Experience in Snohomish, Washington
Ever wonder what life looks like for a dog staying with us at Audax K9 Academy?
Unlike traditional commercial kennel programs where dogs spend hours isolated in runs, our in-home board and train immerses your dog directly into our active family environment in Snohomish, Washington. Your dog lives alongside us—Jason, Kimberly, and our four children—learning house manners, focus, and social confidence right in the middle of real daily life.
We keep our program structured, highly goal-oriented, and full of fun. Here is a look at a typical day in the life of a board-and-train dog in our home.
Morning Routine: Energy Out & Mind Engaged
7:00 AM – Wake-Up & Potty Break: The day starts bright and early! We head straight outside to let the dogs stretch their legs, take care of potty business, and shake off those morning wiggles.
7:30 AM – Breakfast: Fueling the body and mind for a busy day of learning is essential. Every guest enjoys a nutritious meal of premium dog food to keep their energy and focus sharp.
8:30 AM – Game-Based Training Sessions: We kick off the day with fast-paced, exciting, game-based training sessions. Using food luring, free shaping, and high-value rewards like toys and praise, we build, refine, and reinforce core obedience behaviors while keeping energy and engagement high.
Midday: House Manners & Real-World Mindset
10:00 AM – Down Time & Home Mindset Training: Real manners in a house start with state-of-mind. While our four kids start their schoolwork, the dogs transition into structured relaxation. They practice place work, impulse control, and patterning proper indoor etiquette right in the middle of standard family activity.
After Lunch – Play & Outdoor Exercise: After a midday break, it is time to head back outside into the fresh Snohomish air for energetic physical exercise, games, and play.
Afternoon: Precision Field Work & Individual Goals
Mid-Afternoon – Dedicated Field Sessions & Crate Games: This is where we sharpen specific commands and work on individual training targets. We take the dogs to the field for focused 1-on-1 obedience work, run crate training games for the dogs who need them, and work through custom goals outlined in their personalized training plan.
Evening: Family Living & Restful Sleep
Evening – Dinner & Family Relaxation: After a full day of active learning, all the dogs enjoy another meal of premium dog food. Afterward, the dogs practice settling into living room life—relaxing alongside our family and practicing calm household companion skills.
Bedtime – Safe & Cozy Crates: When night falls, all dogs turn in to their crates for a restful night's sleep. Nighttime crating provides complete safety and helps reinforce potty training and home structure.
